Background

Diana Knight has resided in Istanbul Turkey for over 11 years. After working in logistics and R&D in the pet pharmaceutical arm of Uncle Bens (Mars Inc.) in Australia, Diana moved into the teaching English to learners of a second language sector upon establishing herself in Istanbul, Turkey. Diana has been married to a Turkish citizen for 10 years.

Professional Experience

Having initially worked as an English language instructor for adult learners of a second language for four years, Diana was promoted firstly to the Headteacher of the Kadıköy 1 branch of Englishtime language schools and was then promoted to Area Headteacher of the Kadıköy district incorporating 35 teaching staff, 20 Turkish admin and sales staff and 4000 students. Diana’s job responsibilities included the training and development of teaching staff, the scheduling and the opening and closing of classes, the co-ordinating and care of teaching staff and students, the disciplining and sometimes dismissal/expulsion of teachers and students, the developing of educational material including being co-author of an upper-intermediate English language book published for Englishtime, the working to develop and implement English language curriculums in conjunction with Englishtime for corporate clients such as ING bank, IGDAŞ, Mango and DSI and the promoting of Englishtime at fairs and universities. Diana decided to move into the real estate sector after developing a passion for researching residential real estate in Istanbul and other regions of interest in Turkey. Diana has a love of Istanbul’s historical houses and quarters.
